Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I have been learning grasshopper through GrasshopperPrimer which is absolutely a good bibble for beginners. However, there always are some minor mistakes somewhere in the book. Here is one I found difficult to understand in 14.8 nested loops, page 106.

The topview of the left showing the display of grid points is not the same as the way showing in the grasshopper mapping which ends up with confusing error and very hard to study the VB component.

After modifing the right way to generate the grid points matching the author's original diagram, the mid_points are generated correctly and the VB is therefore understandable. New here, just share the experiences encountering the learning problems.

Hi Jeong,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.  The authors of the Grasshopper Primer realize that it's woefully out of date given all of the advancements that have been made in the program over the last year.  We have been working on a new version (which will be a complete re-write) and it should prove to be a vast improvement.  I'm not exactly sure when this next version will be available (we are working hard, but we all have various other responsibilities)... but we're optimistic that we will be able to release it within a few months time.  Thanks for reporting the error and feel free to email me if you find any additional problems.

Kind regards,

Andy Payne
