Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I want to make it so that the definition runs and the cells do not cross over a plane as it is supposed to represent plant growth (plants dont cross planes). In other terms at the moment the grid is an infinite plane but I want to make the boundaries walls in which the cells bounce off.

I'm assuming that Python needs to be used here but... I know nothing about coding >/p>

It is most likely the "Cellular Grid" Component that would take on the constraint

If I understand correctly you want the component to handle the special case of a cell having an edge condition by applying different rules so that a live cell will cause the growth to propagate around or 'bounce' off the edge of the cell space. I have looked through the source (it's written in C#) and making the change is not a completely trivial exercise. If you'd like to discuss this in person contact me through my email on the LMS.
