Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi there,

I am doing my best to divide a BRep component into different equal sized panels but I have failed badly after spending all day with it.  My definition is quite basic at the moment as well.

I live in China so youtube or tutorials online are illegal here so it is impossible to view them hence me posting it here.

So essentially what I want to be able to achieve is be able to create individual Breps or poly-surface blocks out of that single one.  I tried to create a surface in grasshopper and divide the BRep according to that surface but even after that I failed to array the surface along the BRep in a road-like manner across points on a given curve.

Can anyone help with this at all please?

Dividing the BRep doesn't seem to be a very good way. Can you rebuild the surface in GH or do you need to work with the BRep as is? Do you want to modify the SubBReps forther down the road or do you just want to add mullions?

Watching YouTube videos is illegal but copying entire buildings is kind of acceptable...I'll never get chinese logic.

Hey Hannes,

thanks for your input, rebuilding the BRep isn't a problem so long as it containes the same curvature and width (200mm) and height (5100mm). Yes I may divide the SubBreps to add mullions. The SubBreps are there to be manufactured as individual panels from glassbut they may want to add mullions so technically speaking I will be able to find out at a later time.

The chinese logic is pretty flawed, I am still unsettled after 6 months of living here, maybe someday I'll make sense of it.

Cheers

Thank you for your hard work
