Diamond grid on Bubble

Hello community :)

I need your help. I am trying to create a dimond grid on this bubble surfuce.

So far I dont care on the shape or the order of the bubbles. But I am trying to recreate the dimond grid that has some kind of order.

Now I have to make the one by one so there is no relation bettween one and an other.

and I need that there is some kind of union bettween them. as you can see in the second image with yellow lines. 

in my attempt I was able to make the grid but if you look close, constructions wise its a total mess because there is no relation.

how could I approach this idea?
