Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Good day,

I have an issue in a project I am working on, and any help would be much appreciated.

What I am trying to do is the following (refer to attached files for clarification):

I have a polyline drawn in Rhino, this polyline should refer to a surface,

In grasshopper I was working in a definition of 4 surfaces included in a big rectangle, these 4 surfaces should be working together, to change proportionally so no one can overlap the other (which is not yet solved but it is not the initial problem, since I think I would have to create domain).

So back to my issue, I want to apply an array for the group created in the surface created in Rhino, and I want to be able to delete the parts that go out from the mentioned surface, and if possible also i would like to be able to have the configuration where I can have the biggest number of boxes in the big surface.

Thank you for your help in advance, much appreciated,

Regards

Here is the solution for culling these outside the curve boundary.

Also I have streamlined the definition to make use of the default data matching characteristics. i.e. you don't have to repeat whole sections of components for individual items.

i would like to be able to have the configuration where I can have the biggest number of boxes in the big surface.

For this you are going to have to use some kind of solver like Galapagos or generate a wide variety of scenarios all at once and then choose the best fit.

Just a note: you should look into internalising basic geometry from Rhino (item 3 in this link) so you don't have to upload a separate 3DM file.... or rather I don't have to download it
