Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys, I'm trying to convert an old Rhinoscript of mine to a Grasshopper definition, because it's more sexy, right ?

Lesage_Chapeau_Chinois_V3.gh

Here's an associated Rhino file .

I'm using Hoop Snake because each new point is calculated based on the previous one.

The problem with my present definition is that the algorithm "bumps" when it reaches the seam point of the closed curve defining the membrane's border.

To try it out, clear the data in the Hoop Snake remote, and press "Step" until you find the construction cone "oscilates" on both sides of the seam curve.

I've been turning this in my head so long I can't think straight anymore .

Does someone have an idea how to circumvent this problem ?

I can see other hurdles ahead ; in particular, I will need to loop the whole definition until I find the "target width" that allows to avoid having a skinny pattern in the end of the loop...but that's another story.

Cheers,
