Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi David,

Is there any reason why this setup should not work?

It would seem that only the last slider is selecting it's curve.

It certainly doesn't look correct at a first glance. Any chance you can post the files I need to duplicate this?

Here's the cut down version. With internalised Data

The bug is incredibly deep in the core, it will take every inch of my cunning to try and fix it without breaking anything else. In the meantime, if you flatten the P and i inputs of TreeItem it should work as expected, but you probably already figured that out.

Thanks David.

I made some changes to the automatic data tree layout constructor. It seems to have solved this particular problem. It is difficult to test this since there are so many possible cases, two potential problems remain:

  1. Worst, cases that worked before no longer work now (i.e. data is overwritten or information is lost).
  2. Less worse, but still bad, cases that worked before work differently now.

This fix will be part of a fairly major update which is quite possibly weeks or even months away, we'll see whether I'm confident* enough at that time to release it publicly or whether there will be a short closed beta test circle.

Very good! While you're on...

Did you see the other bug wishes I posted whilst you were up a mountain?

http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topic/listForContributor?user=26...

Also there was an interesting wish by Will here: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/grasshopper-0-8-0066-avai...

I'm intrigued, what's this new component?

One last thing... Don't you think it's time the FFCloud got its very own icon :)

how about a Cumilo Nimbus shaped cloud

"Did you see the other bug wishes I posted whilst you were up a mountain?"

I'm reading through old posts, but it's definitely possible I missed something, especially if it's buried deep in a discussion. Typically I respond when I implement a feature, fix a bug or decide not to implement a feature request, so if there's no response, I probably missed it. But give me some time to get settled first.

"I'm intrigued, what's this new component?"

That, is a secret. The icon is not a metaphor for anything though, wysiwid.

"Don't you think it's time the FFCloud got its very own icon"

It needs a better algorithm first.

ps. the "id" stands for "it does"

It's for drawing sprites at point locations. So far I only support two hard-coded sprites. One day, some day, when Grasshopper has bitmap support as a native data type I can make it more customizable.

I knew someday I'd see my name in neon sprites on the big screen :)

Hang on! Does this mean there is an efficient way to simulate particle flow now?

Danny enlighten me on the functionality of "Pipeline."

Also, you saw'd the new field comps?  Exciting...

That is not from the image I just posted. Unless you went through a lot of trouble to edit it in order to remove 4 icons...

Suspicious...
