Boolean operation Differences between Grasshopper and Rhino ?

Hi,

I tried some boolean commands(difference, intersect, or trim) through grasshopper and rhino(V5) and found that in some cases the results are different.

Usually the results from grasshopper are poor. Boolean commands from grasshopper sometimes fails or produces some bad results.

Is it related to rhino_common.dll?

I wonder what's the difference between them, and want to know how can I avoid the poor results from boolean operations in grasshopper.

Hi Sangsu,

are you testing Grasshopper in Rhino4 or Rhino5?

Rhino5 has a lot of new code for dealing with Solid Booleans so we expect big differences. It's also possible the commands have extra smarts build in that are not available in the SDK functions. If that turns out to be the case, we should be improving the SDK functions.
