Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I have an idea for a possible new forum area.

I spend quite a while over at  Ronen Bekerman which is a fantastic resource for rendering. They have an area on the forum there where somebody submits a photograph and the community try to produce a rendered image which best imitates the geometry, materials and lighting. They usually show their working along the way.

It could be done in a competitive way but mostly it's just for fun and is a cool way for people to learn from each other and a sort of informal collaboration. Someone could submit an architectural photograph and then we could discuss how we would approach modelling the geometry in Grasshopper and it might even reveal possibilities for new components etc. I know this kind of thing typically happens in and around the discussion area anyway but this would be more of a formal process.

What do you think?
