Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello!

I have been trying for days now to take the panels of the structure pictured below and lay them out flat so they can eventually be fabricated.

I have figured out how to align them with the world XY plane, but it has been a challenge trying to align them so they all tile nicely like this:

The cause of the problem I am assuming is the somewhat random way the boundary boxes assign X&Y sides to each panel, and also the fact that some of the faces are flipped (back face to the front). At this point, the code is just getting more and more complicated and I still can't figure out how to adjust each boundary box so that all long sides are oriented as X and short sides as Y (for example).

I tried unrolling the surfaces which worked great, but only for those panels which could be unrolled (they are all slightly doubly-curved, so most of them are un-unrollable).
Just wondering if someone has a a more elegant solution to the problem, or any ideas what I need to adjust for it to work.
I've attached the file, please feel free to take a look. Thanks!
