Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

My GHX file stores rgb data from geco to a mesh material. I wanted to see if anyone has had any luck preserving the object attribute when exporting to 3ds MAX.

It would be nice if the geometry coming from Rhino to MAX had a material id or face object id based on a parameters in GH so that materials can be added and modifications can be made in MAX.

I had a similar question but never found a solution as the project direction changed. Someone suggested exporting as an FBX file. I often export as a DWG so I can use the file link manager but this seems to preserve the least amount of information such as UVW mappings. 3Ds files will preserve UVW mappings of meshed NURB's which can be very helpful.
