algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Using the point set reconstruction tools plugin, i have generated 2d and 3d Voronoi. The 2D voronoi are fine in that I understand the mathematics behind how they work and I got what i expected. It can be controlled.

The 3D seems to be a problem for me in that I do not get the result that i think I should be generating.
If I have an equally spaced grid of points 100 apart in x, y and z, i think I should get a regular shaped polyhedra that is repeated everywhere except the edges??? It just goes random as if it's not following the points at all, just making up it's own points and generating a voronoi from randomness.

I can't seem to get Qhull working, it won't open for me, so unsure if that will work better.

Any help?

Hi James,

the PointSetReconstruction plugin really doesn't deal well with regularly spaced points. Do you still get weird effects when you apply some very faint random noise to all the points?

David,

I can now see some logic when i divided a irregular surface.

I offset a surface from that into points and then did a 3d voronoi on them.

Will work on it.
Thanks for the quick reponse.

James.
