Event Description
As architectural forms are increasingly developed parametrically, a representational relationship is imposed between the driving parameters of the form and the resultant geometry. In light of this new relationship, Dr. Chakravartty will explore how the very concept of representation has been conceived by philosophers, how this has shaped the application of the concept in the context of the sciences, and ask whether these conceptions bear a resemblance to how representation is conceived in the contexts of architecture and engineering.
