algorithmic modeling for Rhino

surface from points that are moved by 4 differently shaped stationary attractors generating sine waves.
The 4 values for the z movement are averaged (hence the title 'mean waves', so it's not interference) because I wanted a more 2D-ish outcome.

Thanks ryles, the outlines are the contours, or more acurate, the intersections with a plane. I think I've mentioned all I used for this already, just try it, it's fun.

that is so cool.  are those textures generated within grasshopper also? how did you get the kind outlines of the shapes, it kind of looks toon shaded.

@ Ivo: thank you. I think I really said everything you need to know in the discription to get you started. Oh: the wave lenghts and were all different, their speeds as well. You can do this, have fun with it:)
@ David: you are right of coarse, though I was trying to avoid proper interference it is just a interference pattern scaled by 0.25 in z direction, dang:| Silly of me not to check that properly. Well, more exploring to do :-) Thanks for your vote.

That's some seriously mean waves Pieter. Beautiful. You'd get proper interference by adding all waves together A+B+C+D, whereas the average is (A+B+C+D)/4. So correct me if I'm wrong, but it's actually same thing, just somewhat flatter.

can you give me some more detail tips and directions how you did it?

I would really like to develope something similar and explore it more.
