voronoy 3d aplly to generic mesh....box and interseption

I have created a mesh with kangaroo.

I want to divide this mesh with voronoy, i have tried and i have create a voronoy3d structure  (using the command with box) with a generic numerber of points. 

I have trasformated the brep in mesh and intersected this with my mesh, but it doesn't  work, why?
