Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

i created this Object:

How can i give that one a thickness? i tried to use offset, but i get "1. Data conversion failed from Brep to Surface"

Any Idea how to fix that?

Thanks a lot!!

Surface Offset only works on individual surfaces. It cannot handle polysurfaces. At present Grasshopper doesn't have a solid offset component even though Rhino5 has a command for this now.

You can only offset single surfaces. you would need to offset each surface and then re build the result as a polysurface.

I would suggest inwards thickness then you can use the Boundary Volume Component to create the New Brep

You are going to have to come up with some sort of logic to specify which offset direction depending on the surfaces orientation

Hi,

i came up with an other solution... i only wanted to to give this a thickness, to contour it later... but i do not need to have a solid, to use contour... instead of this i moved the contour lines...

Thanks!!!
