Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hello everyone!

being a beginner in grasshopper, i was wondering if there is a way to simulate traffic in grasshopper. i tried using S.I but was unable to get desired results, perhaps because of lack of command over the program, i am not too sure. any direction or starting guideline would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Umar,

Grasshopper by itself typically doesn't do iterative processes. I.e. where the result of one computation becomes the input for the next. There are plugins for Grasshopper which do take this approach, but I'm not sure if any of them are suitable for traffic simulation.

What sort of simulation are you looking for btw.? Ready made tools or are you looking to implement a specific simulator algorithm?

at this level, i guess ready made tools could be enough. i mostly intend to do tasks like simulate a certain traffic behaviour in a space and see how changing that space would affect the behaviour in return.

once again, since i am a beginner, i may sound vague so, bear with me!

regards.

Anyone who would like to enlighten me? :D
