Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hello,

i am new at grasshopper and rhino and i think i have a simple question.  i'm creating a model, made of 4 joined EdgeSurfaces.  three of the surfaces are forming correctly, but one is not.

there is a rectangle with a circle above it and four curves that connect the rectangle to the circle.  this piece will be distributed across a quad surface, but before i get there, one of the four EdgeSurfaces that are joined to make a surface isn't acting like the others.  it seems simple to fix, but i've tried what i know and nothing seems to work.  file is attached, there is a little more detail on a panel to the right in the file.  any suggestions?

You aren't using correctly the shatter component. It's asking for parameter values, not points. See the attached definition.

thank you very much, vincente!

the next step is to make this geometry fit into a quad surface i've modeled.  i'm not sure where in the script for the quad surface i can insert these three versions of what i am calling the modeled component.   as of now i have 4 points from an exploded tree that are configured to create 4 pt surfaces.  i want to replace these, and have the 3 modeled components distributed across the quad surface.  i'm not sure if this is possible.  what i am trying to achieve is a quad surface, with an attractor point that determine the height of the modeled component.  as the height increases, the diameter of the circle also increases.  i think this might be a better route than 3 separate modeled components distributed across the surface.

in the file, you can see the shape i've chosen to give a range, showing the shortest modeled component with a small diameter, and the tallest with a large diameter but not too large, so that it doesn't extend outside of the perimeter of its base.

any suggestions from anyone?
