Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi Everyone,

I would like to fill a random shape with a pattern. I made a pattern based on a grid with circles on the grid points.  So basically if I could fill the shape with grid-point I would be on the right way. Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi biglint,

I am not an expert in grasshopper, but maybe something like this will help you:

?

This can be solved using the Solid Difference component, but for some reason, I am getting a surface which u and v curves are not parallel to x and y coordinate axis in Rhino.

That is why I tried to manually create the surface in Rhino, split it, and then feed into Grasshopper.

Check the files attached.

Hi djordje,

Thanks a lot, it works! you pointed me in the right direction. The shape I wanted to fill was not the picture I posted, that is actually the pattern I am using. I filled a text shape with the pattern. see picture.

I attached the grasshopper definition.

here the grasshopper definition
