algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hi guys,

I'm working with substrate to realize an example of residential area.

I need to isolate the boxes of substrate and doing the roofs.

The problem is that actually I can't undestand how are subdivided lines and points in substrate.

any ideas about ?

thx in advance_

ps.

in the grid some boxes must be empty (green void ), and can be great the possibility to give random different shape to the roofs and select random boxes for giving colors.

Someone can help me? thanks.

Have a look at this page, it is the original substrate. My implementation uses lines rather than pixels, but the creation process is roughly similar.

Hi David, thanks for answer,

I belive there is a vertical line and then start the horizontal shortest ones, isn'it.

but the rule is linked with the dimension of the surface, I belive is possible select horizontal and vertical lines ( whit the angle) but how can I take two parallel lines to make a roof.

thank you!!

Thanks Igor, is perfect.... actually I'm still in problems because I need to do some roofs over the cube and I'm using the delunay, but something is wrong because GH takes the curve in a strange way and there is no a single roof on a single box but a disaster of mixed roofs.....

can you undestand which the problem?

thanks a lot.

Best.

Hi, good morning ,

sorry if I ask you 2 (stupid maybe) thinks...I am still learning .

I'm using the faces of Igor's caps and the edge as stat point for the definition of roof, using points from edge wiyh list item but:

1) a lot of cap has more than 4 curves, so I need to collapse the curves that are in the same edge.side of the perimeter (but not the other ...and this is the problem). I've tried with join and simple... maybe in the wrong way.

2) I need to use the definition on all the caps together, I need to separare the caps like a lot of single cap ( I belive this is reallye elementary but don't works...)

any helps? please ...

have a nice day_

Hi all,

just a short question again over substrate... is possible have only one direction and his perpendicular and not other?

see the picture please.

Thanks :)
