algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Does anybody have an idéer how to create a surface ("hollow shell") formed precisely from the path of the sun?

And is it possible to give the shell a color gradient (ex. blue -> red) from the strength of the sun (W/m2) over a year / month / day ...

Hi Thomas,

It will be one of the features for the Ladybug but I haven't implement it yet.

If you want to know how the annual cumulative sky looks like I can send you a sky dome similar to what you can see in this video.

In case you only want to do a presentation and you have access to ECOTECT you can plot the radiation on the sun-path from calculate> Sun-Path Diagram.

What do you want it for?

Hey thanks for the answer :-)
What I want it for.?.. Well just for fun at first. Later I perhaps use it a School building projekt... Perhaps make a paper model to show the Sun path in a physical model

Nice! So hopefully Ladybug will be out soon and then you can have fun with it! Stay tuned! :)

I think Ted Ngai had a definition that output at least the curves of a surface like this - seems like it wouldn't be hard to coerce into a surface.
