CENTIPEDE - Animation Keyframe Timeline for Grasshopper

DOWNLOAD LINK

I know this is a very simple idea, but I got tired of setting up definitions to animate multiple objects with a single slider, even then, key-framing is a nightmare, so....

This allows the user to keyframe the animation of multiple objects in Grasshopper along a single slider. (Centipede is  a vb.NET plugin for grasshopper (0.8))

Hopefully , with some more work and a lot of help , this could become a proper plugin within the Grasshopper framework. It is still rough, but the idea is there. I would appreciate any feedback. Instructions are embedded in the definition itself.

I hope this helps someone out with their project, enjoy :)

Thanks! This seems very useful.
No Problem, glad you find it useful:)
whoah, cool!

I have a great interest in Grasshopper - based Animation.

Animating an already parametric model appears much more elegant than the Bongo-Approach to me, which basically implants some Intelligence after the fact - on top of an already existing but "dumb" model.

Cool where at some Constraints and Mates as used in Solid-Modelers as well as Kangoroo-Kinematics hooked up... just dreaming.

Hey Holger: I agree, the idea of adding Constraints and References , such as in Kangaroo would be great..... Next step though, is to turn this into an actual component....

mh, the animation works, but nothing is happening on the pics. what am I doing wrong?
Could you describe what you are trying to do? What do you mean by pics?

VERSION 0.2b Now ready

Centipede is NOW A COMPONENT

Make sure you install the component before running the .ghx file.

The component can be found under the new 'ANIMATION' tab in your toolbar.

How and where do I connect the objects I wanna animate to your component?

Can you show an example?

Thx.

I updated the file with an example GHX, please redownload :)

This is awesome, thank you for continuing to develop.
