Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I have tried everything to get this 3D form to render properly but I just get a rendered front surface and wireframe behind, I am not sure if its a setting in Rhino I need to change or whether it is a problem with the way I have put together the Grasshopper element, any advice would be much appreciated. PDF is attached to show the problem, I am after a fully rendered view in Rhino..

If you plug SBox into the Explode (BRep Components) component then you will get all of the Faces to render individually.

Hi Danny, where is it located? I can only find a split surfaces thing..

Surface Tab>Analysis Panel

Are you aware of the Create Functionality in Grasshopper? If you double click on the canvas and start typing a keyword you should see a list of components with a close match come up. Also default shortcut key is F4

Hi Danny,

That is fantastic :-) I wasnt aware of the shortcut etc so that is also a great help, many thanks. It works really well but is showing crosses at every intersection, maybe that one is a Rhino setting, will have a look, many thanks for your help.

That's the vertices of the exploded BRep. You get three elements Faces Edges and Vertices

Hi there, one more question..I suppose there is no way to hid the vertices, or to render it in a way that doesnt show them? I am following an old tutorial which seems to have rendered the 3 dimensions just fine without needing a BRep. According to the tutorial it used to work very nicely on a much older version of grasshopper..I am sure I have not done anything different..(this is the link to the tutorial.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnjY99i3qVY&feature=BFa&list...)

Yes. Hide the Explode Component and take the output of the faces into a Surface Param
