Diamond surface division

Hello,

 

I'm trying to divide a loft surface whit a diamond division.

 

If I make the loft surface whit circle or ellipse everything works fine, when I try to make a loft surface whit square or rectangle nothing works...

 

Anyone have some ideas?

If you loft a square (or anything with sharp angles) you will get a Brep (polysurface).

So your divide strategy will have to deal with multiple surfaces instead of one.

What about modeling the surface whit different pattern?

Which is the best way?

Divide the surface like a diamond division or whit the paneling?

Actually I want to represent a reticular beam structure but I'm thinking to the coat...
