Surface Panelisation

Hi all

I am trying to divide a surface into simple panels to analyse repetition in panel sizes. So far I have been using Panelling Tools in Rhino to divide the surface however I was wondering if it was possible to achieve a similar result using grasshopper?

The critical areas are at the edges where whole rectangles cannot be formed. In these locations it would be usefull to have the rectangular panels trimmed to the base surface.

I would be gratefull for any ideas about how this could be done
