Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello GH Gurus,

I have a 3D curve that is on a helix that has been divided by number of points on a curve.  The curve shape is adjustable.  I'd like to put a plane perpendicular to curve at the first division point.

How can I pass point vector #1 to the plane command?  The picture below shows the divided curve, and point #1.

Thanks,

Have you looked into perp frames?

That worked but I don't know how controllable a solution it is.  If I set it to zero, I get what I want, but if change the index the plane's location is not at a division point, so I don't know what is driving it.

Thanks for the help.

If you are using the divide curve component, take a closer look at the outputs. the "t" output gives you a parameter that perp frame can use to set the origin of the plane.

Be aware there is a perp frame and a perp frames component. Both can get you what you want in the end.
