Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi GH Gurus,

I am new to GH and don't understand the results I am getting with a Solid Difference command.  Files attached.

I am cutting a closed Sweep1 ring with multiple closed Pipes.  The result gives multiple polysurfaces each with a single difference cut.  My desired result is one polysurface with multiple cuts.

Can someone tell me how to get one polysurface with multiple cuts?

Thanks

Try "Flatten" Brep B input of solid difference.

Hyungsoo,

Thanks for the advice.

What area is Flatten located in?  All see is Flatten Tree.  Maybe this is in an additional Plugin?

Place the cursor at the "Brep B" input and click the right mouse button, then select "Flatten".

Check attached.

"Flatten" means you could collapse the separated data structures into one. Otherwise, solid difference operation is performed independently for each geometry, resulting in four geometries.

Hyungsoo,

That worked!  Image below of success.  Thank you for the explanation.

New Question:

How can I apply a solid fillet to the holes without manually selecting them?

Hyungsoo,

I am trying this out on my main project and get a different failure.  Now when I use the Solid Difference (flattening the pipes).  I get a closed curve with the pipes attached.  I believe I have this set up as in the file you helped me with.

Hyungsoo,

Thank you again.  This worked!

The list of pipes (solids) to be subtracted from the sweep surface (solid).

I get the inverse of that.  Hyungsoo explained the solution to me.  Thank you for your help too.
