algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey All,

I'm trying to do some generative spacial planning.

And I was wondering if there was a way to group say 3 or 4 points that are within a certain distance to eachother?? and leave the rest??

Thanks,

Shuwei

There's a [Point Groups] component which finds all clusters within a point collection whose members are at most x units away from neighbouring points. However it doesn't ensure the entire group is smaller than some threshold.

You may also be interested in [Proximity 3D] component which finds neighbours for each point with possible constraints on number of neighbours and lower/upper distances.

I would like to be able to specify groups of 3 for example, and it would go through and find groups of 3 points and sort them out as branches.

With the point groups for example, is it a possiblity to specify the number of points you want in a group?

With the proximity, they sometimes generate straight lines, instead of within a cluster group.

is it possible to just generate groupings?
