Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi there,

I'm really beginner in Grasshopper and i'm trying to solve small problem in easy way. I've definied a net beetwen points using polylinie and set in curves archicad beam tool. I need to place an object (cylinder) in every point of this net as you can see below. Do you guys have anny suggestions how can I do it? For any help I'll be very grateful.

Best regards,

Krystian

I don't have the plug ins used ... but

1. In general and IF a surface/mesh is around use the derived normal(s) and Orient an object accordingly (see attached using a surface).

2. If on the other hand you have a kind of 3d line graph in 3d space you must compute the normal for a given node as the sum of all unitized vectors (as directions FROM the node TO any adjacent [i.e. "connected"] node). For managing connectivity matters (node to node) use add-ons the likes of Sandbox - but that is not something that a novice could (probably) master.

Anyway ... notify is you need an example for the tricky part (case 2).
