Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi there, I am currently working on a project whereby I am attempting  to create a bench (essentially a simple 3d form modelled on rhino) which can be controlled on the x y and z axis by its control points, I have tried to apply points along the curve in my bench model however I am not sure how to connect the points so that they can be controlled individually on a graph. Sorry for the slightly vague explanation hopefully my sketch may help to explain it more:

Your drawing might be a little confusing.  Usually the control points are connected by straight lines not by curves as I believe you're indicating.  You can add as many control points to this def as you might wish.  I don't know how you would make use of a graph to manipulate them though.

Hi Chris, thanks very much for your help, really appreciate it!!

Hi Chris,

I just have one question regarding how to enclose the loft as I have circled it in the screenshot below. Basically what I am trying to do is enclose the shape so that it becomes a seamless form. The reason I ask is because I am trying to connect it to set of parameters which slices the shape into pieces for fabrication but as the moment, it is only slicing the bench along one direction. I think the reason for this is because the shape is not closed as in previous attempts at slicing, I have managed to slice a sphere and the slicing parameters have cut it on both axis.

Thanks again

Thanks Again!

Rashad,

Try this.  It's watertight after baking.  Just simple planar ends hopefully good enough to test your slicer.
