Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey guys. So I'm really new to GH and had a concept but not really sure how to do it. I wanted strange objects to be randomly placed within a grid of points. Each objects scale and rotation to be randomized. I found a script that would put random geo on points and added a random factor to scale and added a 3D grid. Yet I don't know how to have the objects be randomized. In the image you can see how the geometry is being placed into the grid, but instead of simple geo would like complex objects to be placed. If anyone could help the GH and rhino files are attached. CHEERS!

Something like this?

Great Script Hyungsoo! :) ......a Mondrion Highrise all it needs is a random color

or maybe a Moshe Safdie Highrise Habitat, with a few architectural wrinkles still to worked out ...yikes!

Hmm ..what the greatest ever (Mies VDR : Less is more blah, blah) could comment on that thing?

Also needs lots of chicken wire to keep the damn Pigeons out!

Nevertheless its a great script for those that design Future Cities for games, or a way to store Garbage in stainless steel mesh compacted Cubes, HighRise Style. With ferns growing up the outside. When we run out of Landfill sites. .... as referenced to one of my favorite animated movies Wall-E

Really Love this Kim Hauer! Trying to have the random objects have a random interaction like this tower. Is there anyway I could see the script you used for this? Would be really appreciated!

YESSS! yet is there a way to allow the objects to have a random rotation and scale?

You want cartoon character chaos?

Hyungsoo Kim you are my hero!!! And ya chaos is always fun

I created 1 rectangular block in xy plane, made 2 copies, rotated 1, 90 degrees it xz plane, rotated the other 90 degrees into yz plane, plugged each one into one of the Mesh comp. of Hyungsoo's script, then adjusted the sliders......Viola!

Hmm .. I think that you are rather ready for an ancient def (made a million years ago) that can make you the next I.M.Pei (no kidding) is less than 7 steps.

Of course there's the V2 around (and V3C not to mention V4B) but these deal mostly with sardines as instance definitions (for SardineBuildings as instances of Buildings): ULTRA freaky stuff, best avoided at any cost.

Moral: Anyone can do Architecture (even Architects).

Nice Script Peter! ......all I have to do is find out whats happening in 1030 cubes ..... Yikes!

V2. Create Floor slices, Start with a modular 3m x 3m x3m Cube and design around that. Restrict vertical Cube overlaps to a predefined floor/ceiling thickness. By V10 we may have something workable :)

Kim was this generated from Peter's script? I was playing around with it and it seems really awesome but wayyyy over my head lol. How were you able to create a more open form (not just in a simple 3d grid)?
