Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello!

I would like to ask for some help please!

I'm trying to roughly modell a building in grasshopper, but i cant create an arc based on 3 points( 20160103_110359.jpg) to get a shape like on the picture i uploaded. And i need a lot of these arcs to create the the whole shape.

Could someone help me please?

Are you sure you want arcs? The other pictures show what appear to be freeform curves or catenaries.

Freeform curves would be good too, i dont know all the possibilities yet. I'm a beginner, so i'm happy with any advice or tip.

I tried a few ways, but didnt find correct one.

Beautiful project.  "Grasshopper_help needed" is a very poor thread title!  Something more descriptive would be better.  Even your description of the task doesn't say anything about what the model is?

In any case, there are so many particulars here that refine the shape - like the fact that the main beams are not evenly spaced, which I ignored in the two models below:

'mpUp' is a cluster I created to raise the middle of three points...

Thank you very much for youre help! I can learn a lot from these.

The most important thing to notice is that the result is based on four sets of three points each that define curves lifted from the image.  Using 'mpUp' to raise the middle point further than the end points adds an arc in the Z direction.  MANY ways to play with this - have fun!

P.S.  Replaced one of the 'mpUp' clusters with the ability to move the mid-point in both Z and X directions, pushing the top "front" curve out:

Notice how this top front curve uses the same three points that define the curve on the ground?
