Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Dear Grasshopper People,

Hope all is going on this week end and you enjoy far away from grasshopper haha :)
Just to say that i have a problem with the offset function ! I looked for solutions but this problem seems very different and basic but i don't remember how to offset one line instead of segments that shape one line ! For information, these curves come from Lunchbox function which i used to make panels and curves.

My question is simple "how to merge different lines of one curves to make a simple curve without discontinuity" ?

I tried "rebuild curve" or other but that seems not working

here is the picture to show the actual problem and if you ask for the definition of what im actually working, don't hesitate if that could really help

Thanks

Best regards

Did you try 'Join Curves' before doing the offset?  You might need to flatten the list of curve segments before the 'Join'... and you need to understand the data tree/lists before applying flatten, to make sure that what happens is what you want.

Yeah i flatten curve and that works well. From 4600 curves to 150 curves ! Perfect i missed that and that is clear now ! But one last thing is that you can see in picture the difference ! Maybe problem of orientation of curves i guess ! No ?

Again: you need to understand the data tree/lists before applying flatten, to make sure that what happens is what you want.  Random application of flatten, graft, shift path, etc., might work if you get lucky but it's not the way to master GH.  You have to connect a panel or 'Param Viewer' every step of the way to get the lists to match.
