What about it do you want to duplicate? Just the rotation and placement of the boxes, or also structural details? What aspects of such an installation do you want to control? Is the number of boxes a variable? Is the box size a variable? Is the box spacing a variable? Do you want to populate an existing surface with boxes, or is the global placement somehow controlled via an algorithm? What controls do you want over the rotational properties? Is the rotation angle the result of some equation, or should it be controlled via attractors that are manually adjustable? Are there constraints regarding the distribution of the lightspots?

Too many questions, you need to narrow down your query so we can actually talk about solving bite-size problems. This is why point 7b is part of this list.
