Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Dear friends,

I would like to plug in the GraphMapper as a genome for Galapagos, but it isn't an option.

Any suggestions for a mathematical approach using sliders to make intervals along a surface edge disproportionate to each other?

To goal is simply to achieve what GraphMapper does with NumberSliders to use in Galapagos.

Cheers,
Og

You can't alter control points in Graph Mapper from other components. Therefore the only way is to use an equation to do what you want (Math > Functions or Variable Expression component) -- there's a corresponding equation for each graph type.
Hi June-Hao,

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, that makes sense. Cheers for the suggestion -- I'll give it a shot and post my findings..

Best,
Og
as a slightly more roundabout approach you could literally reproduce the graph mapper by building a bezier span with 6 sliders controlling the control points.... But this is probably a little inefficient for what you're attempting to do.

Nice solution Andrew.
