algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi I have a closed polysurface modelled in rhino and I want to convert this surface to a solid volume so that I can slice this form into many planes like waffle grid. therefore i want to convert this form into a solid. please guide me how can i do it in rhino or grasshopper.

In Rhino, 'Solid Tools' tab, 'Cap planar holes'?  (if the top and bottom are planar curves?)

hey joseph I have tried that cap planar hole but it just closes the top and bottom voume inside remains void. I want to make it a solid so i can use it as a brep in grasshopper 

what happens if you then use Solid>>Create Solid in Rhino?

I think it will always look hollow in Rhino because (and I might be wrong here) Rhino is a surface modeller not a solid modeller. But you will have a closed Brep that you could then waffle using the Bowerbird tools or grasshopper components.

Upload the file. Even a slight overshoot of the surface past the top outline can stop capping. You can better control the ends by placing two loops instead of one near the ends, often just a copy of the end loop near the end to really square it up. Here is an extreme example of loft mushrooming, due to a twist from not aligning the loft settings, but it can also arise from point-editing of a loft afterwards:

Yeah, there ought to be a more organic smooth capping command in Rhino that just smoothly does it with lots of control over the result, but Patch can do some of that already.
