Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi All,

Sorry this is not directly related to GH, but anyway i though someone here might be able to help.

I was looking for resources (Papers, thesis,...) on Form finding techniques. To be more precise, i want to create a diagram that links Parametric and Algorithmic design techniques... Hoping to create some sort of a "mind-map" diagram with the relationships, hierarchy and order of titles including:

Form Finding

Algorithmic Design

Parametric Design

Evolutionary Design

Computational Design

Procedural Design

Swarm Intelligence

Cellular Automata

Genetic Algorithms

Artificial Life

Generative Growth

Fractal Geometry

Digital Morphogenesis

Emergence

Neural Networks

Thanks

How about urban planning ?

well,if with cellular automata patterns and structures can be discussed,
then this can be applied also to many themes .
but if david and vicente express their doubts,
then it would be interesting to know,
whether this is the consequences of own experience?

Following the  line, I have another doubt...............

The parametric models, are systems defined by a reltionship map, big design solution populations can be generated by the parameter modification based on those relationships. while the algoritmics models are defined by rules, parameters and algorithms.

If we defined a AGENT BASED MODEL (MBA) as the relationship established between each agent and his behaviour in the system, can we say that MBA are a kind of Parametric models, or the parametric model is the methodologie and the MBA is the process???????

I'm quite confused in this issue..............
