Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone!

I am a architecture student who just started to use grasshopper within a month. I just downloaded kangaroo to investigate in tensile membrane structure, the attached photos are what I hope to build, but I really cant make it after searching tons of tutorial for hours! please help me with it!! thanks a lot :)

Woukd you post your Rhino File of the structure? i can make one thougt dimensions would be off as I not know the dimensions you are working with.

But if you have Kangaroo the easisist way is to create a rectangular mesh and assign pull points with The Spring/Kangaroo module. Just pull and push. Assign some points to edges to keep the overall form and some on the surface which are going to be the push/pull points.

Thanks for your reply,Juan! Hm,actually I even don't have my correct Rhino file yet, because my task on it is to build the model out by just looking at the photos. Any dimension should work, I just want to know how can I approach to this kind of form/structure.

Would you mind to post the definition that you have just mentioned, because I really don't have a concrete idea on the components, so I will just look into the definition. thanks anyways :)

ok, currently out once I get home will post the definition. If no one has by then.

See if this works, just recreate the same for all floor and match the idea.

Create a Mesh / Assign Mesh ( The option has to be set to True and Animation on holf until everything is ready ). Baked Naked edges to get the edges to stay constant, grab all naked edges + Points along surface you will pull, assign all points. Once everything is assign, set to False / Start timer and just push/pull.

I have downloaded and checked the files! it's really useful and helpful. I will try to rebuild again according to your steps. Once again, thank you very much:)
