algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi there, I'm having a few problems with this one. Any help would be much appreciated!I have a bunch of surfaces in different levels (coordinate z). I need my definition to draw the outline of the overlapping surfaces, I thought region union would be able to do this but it is not working! I'm posting an image of what I'm looking for, the difinition of gh and my rhino file.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Andrew

you can try the following

alex

hi alex, thanks for the response. Sorry if I didnt explain my self well enough. I need to get the outline for each group of overlaped surfaces in their respective position, not in a projection to the xy plane. If I dont use projection I still have the same problem which is the region union only working for 2 of the 8 overlaping surfaces.

I think if I was able to have in each branch the surfaces that are overlapped I would be able to make region union work properly but Im not sure of how to do that..

Oh i see. i was confused by your first image3 showing the lower outline only.

anyway. if you have your tree trimmed and reverse the lists in region union component it works. don't know why though, did not look further into it.

that's amazing, thanks alex! really weird the reverse thing, I dont understand either.

Maybe it has to do with curve length, but i am not sure, could be case specific.
