How to recreate the branch like structure of The Tote by Serie Architects

Hi guys,

I am a architecture student and just start using grasshopper.

I chose The Tote by Serie Architects for my structure case study, as you can see the images below, the section of each branch is like a "I" beam.

My original idea was to treat two horizontal plane and vertical plane separately. But it was getting extremely confusing as the branches point toward 8 direction.

Do you guys have any suggestion that can define the structure easier?

Thanks:)

It appears like each main branch is planar. It's a bit of backwards thinking but give this a try maybe.

1.I would treat each main branch as a surface that gets divided up by smaller branch curves.

2.Those smaller surfaces are now offset by the depth of the beams

3. those smaller surfaces are now used to trim the original surface

4. the original surface is now a flattened tree, just extrude edges for the top and bottom to get the chords of the beams.
