algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hello everyone,

i dont have a specific example to discuss upon. I want to ask further information about how can i start giving colour on a surface/mesh. for example how could i assign a reaction/diffusion colour formation on a surface/mesh?

thank you in advance

Hi Etsim,

surfaces can be previewed in a specific colour, but you cannot assign different colours to different parts of the surface, at least not with standard GH components. If you wish to create and preview textures you'll need one of the GH plugins (I don't know which ones can do this).

Meshes can be assigned different colours for each vertex. There are three native components to do this:

  • Construct Mesh, which requires vertices, faces and has an optional input for colours.
  • Mesh Colours, which takes an existing mesh and a collection of colours to assign (one for each vertex)
  • Mesh Spray, which takes an existing mesh and a collection of spray points and colours. This component will interpolate the final colours based on the relative distances from each vertex to all spray points.
