Input from file (HELP ME ! )

Hello,

i have a series of depth images/datas/matrixes (480x640) made by a a depth senzor . I want to sate these datas in a .txt file and to include somehow in the grasshopper but i don't know how.

Can someone show me how to include a txt file with 3D coordinates in grasshopper ? Or suggest me a different method.

Hi Akos,

you can import text data using the File Watcher component. However it sounds like you don't have text files yet, you only have the raw sensor data? If so, what format is the sensor data in? Can you upload one of these files?

Hi David,

thank for the fast reply. I'm trying to use write a program to capture depth date using multiple kinects then somehow marge the date, correct the interference errors and then to save in a format compatible with grasshopper.

As i mentioned i'm a beginner in Grasshopper, i have tried some File reader but it did't worked for me as i wanted. I don't have a file format, because i'm working in C# and basically i can save i any format i want ( the txt is the simplest ).

My first thought was something like this :

X1 Y1 Z1

X2 Y2 Z2

...

Xn Yn Zn

I'm going to check the File Watcher component as i get home .

The latest grasshopper versions have file import components (Params tab, Input panel). You could use Import Coordinates, it's pretty flexible about parsing text files.
