algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi,
I'm attempting to Region Union anywhere from 2 to 20 circles at a time, but it seems that at some threshold (around ten maybe?), the command ignores the groupings with the highest individual circles, giving back only the region unions with smaller numbers of curves. Is there an upper bound to the domain for the Region Union command?
I'm ultimately trying to find a way to keep all the overlapping circles in my set that are composed of four or more, and delete overlaps of three or less. The Collide Many Many command only knows when it collides with the first object, so that doesn't seem to work.
Any advice is appreciated!

there shouldn't be a limit, if you can post the geometry I can file a bug report with the Rhino core developers.

Here is my script in full, without any B-reps needed. It's long, but the problem happens around steps 09-10. Although all my circle clusters are perfectly symmetrical, the Region Union operation seems to treat them asymmetrically, sometimes voiding out the most intense and desirable regions. There is a number slider in step 09 that can show different configurations and the different errors that arise in the Region Union.

I solved it another way, with a lot less computing power. But if you are interested in the problem of a possible max domain of Region Union, do take a look.
