Extrude to point with amplitude

Hi, guys.

Is there any way I can extrude some of curves to a point but, instead of going all the way to the point, make it stop at a certain distance?

I tried to create a vector and use it as the direction for extrusion, determining the amplitude, but the result I got was not the same as extruding it to a point.

No.

(But I'll give you some hints. Two are in the curve tab, one is in the surface->freeform group and another is in the math->script group.)
