"quick and dirty: if you don´t rotate the planes more than 90 degrees in the example above you can just scale the z direction to 0 ;-)...you'll still get the nice transitions of the twisted surface...but its a flat surface"

"Thanks a lot! I think this will help a lot. Now question. What If I want to keep them planar, instead twisting just pinch the thickness? Any Idea on that? "

Florian Frank replied to Tim Kuhn's discussion Trying to recreate a facade Idea.
"modeling twisted surfaces could be a first approach...now you have to get a system for selecting the planes(see the script from the other post) to rotate. You can do it with attractor points or by picking frames and if the center of the plane…"

Vector intersection with surface measurement.

Hi, I am working on a project for school and I'm trying to design a facade for two surfaces that face each other. Since its for a hotel I want to create privacy. My idea is to take the surface normal of the one surface and project them to the opposite surface and measure the angle of intersection and drive aperture openings in the facade. Ideally this would create small openings for when the two surfaces directly face each and the sight line is 90 degrees. So far I have been able to get the…See More

Asymmetrical Revolve Ribbing

Hey Guys. I am stuck. I am need to build this model for a project and I was going to rib out this form with grasshopper and cut the pieces on the laser cutter. But I can't get the ribbing to work. I think its because the UV are always parallel to a XYZ plane...Is there there away to force the UV to always be straight? If you have any idea how to help me it would be greatly appreciated...or I'm going to have to find another way to build this thing sadly. Tim See More

I found this...Infiltration definition.  http://www.box.com/shared/8c1tp2325xBut I think this is more of a diagrammatically definition that shows erosion. I want to be able to show the collection of water in a 3d model. If anyone has any insight to this it…See More
