If you want to use this component for manufacturing a double curved surface; you need to check the maximum deviation of quads from planar status and see if you and your manufacturing technology can tolerate this much error. Here is a component I have made for obtaining a set of almost planar surfaces for approximating a NURBS surface. This components converts mesh quad surfaces into a set of individual NURBS surfaces. If you want to use this component for manufacturing a double curved surface; you need to check the maximum deviation of quads from planar status and see if you and your manufacturing technology can tolerate this much error.
