"If the viewports are not visible then Rhino does not redraw them and thus Galapagos never figures out something needs to be drawn in them. If you want to record viewports you'll need to keep them on screen.
While optimizing with Galapagos I have selected the “Display all genomes in the Rhino viewport” visualization option. When I lock my computer to let it run, for example over night, Galapagos keeps running, but does not display any genomes in the viewport. (I record Galapagos with a video capture software so I can review the results and use the animation in presentations.) Has anyone else come across this problem? If so, have you found a solution?See More
maybe you really are running out of memory. Can you check in the task manager how many Megabytes Rhino is consuming? Do you have access to Rhino5 64-bit? If yes, can you test again, see if it fares any better?
"It turns out that it is a rotate component that is causing the error. I get the error when rotate is creating 6,317,325 lines. I reduced the number of lines to 1,546,125 and the definition works just fine, calculating the solution in only 2 seconds."

"I just installed DIVA for Rhino 1.901. When I open up rhino I don't have the DIVA toolbar, and I can't find it anywhere. Also, when I run any of the DIVA commands, for example, "Metrics" I get a rhino script error: Microsoft…"
DIVA-for-Rhino is a plugin which runs thermal, daylight, solar radiation, and glare simulations. Our goal is to bring validated environmental simulations directly to the conceptual design environments of Rhino and Grasshopper.See More
"Hi Luc -
It seems to me that there may not be a valid solution for every pair of curves. This definition works by assuming that two vertices are fixed (the end points of the curves, or the of the new division line from the previous step) and…"
"Andrew,What you describe is exactly the logic I was trying to set up. Thank you! It works sometimes on the definition you uploaded, but when I insert new curves it always fails. I am not sure if it is the definition or my inexperience with hoop…"
"Hmm... this is a challenging problem. The area centroid is dependent on the position of the vertices and the vertices are dependent on the area centroid, so the problem is a bit circular to solve. Also, I'm not sure it's always solvable,…"
"The divisions between the surfaces don’t need to be vertical. In my first attempt at solving this I generated lines in grasshopper (in this case parallel and vertical) that I then used to split the surface. (I was thinking that I could vary…"
