Simple and Intuitive Robotic Simulation

  • Create simulations from just three Godzilla components and a sequence of planes
  • Build definitions with standard Grasshopper tools
  • All the features you need for robotic simulation
  • All the features you need for real world robot control
  • Built by RoboFold – leaders in creative robotic development

How do I control how the robot moves?

The robot follows a sequence of planes, so you need to:

  • Obtain planes from Rhino geometry e.g. lines, surfaces, meshes
  • Create planes directly using standard GH tools or scripts

Current Features

Timeline

  • Multiple robots displayed in parallel
  • Visualise actions, clash detection and axis limits
  • Use scripting to create loops with Python or C#

Robots and tools

  • Use, create, import and export robots and tools
  • Share robots and tools with .rob/.too file format.

Actions

  • Monitor actions in real time with heads-up display
  • Custom values e.g. on/off, true/false, numerical values, speed, %’s

Clash detection and axis limits

  • Persistently displayed as colour changes on all affected key-frames
  • Dynamically displayed as colour changes on robots

Forthcoming features

  • Multiple tool-state geometry e.g. open/closed grippers
  • Linear rails and rotary tables
  • Multi-threading for faster clash detection
  • Simulate with any computer on your network, then send data to the Raspberry Pi code generator and control robots.
  • Code generation for multiple robots brands: ABB, Universal, Kuka, Staubli etc

Licensing

Godzilla: robot simulator

Mechagodzilla: code generator

  • Network license, unlimited users
  • Hosted on a Raspberry Pi connected to the robot and LAN
  • Manages multi robot synchronisation
  • PRICING: TBC

Hi Anna, we haven't written the Kuka post processor yet. We are planning on including this in the future, among the other robot types. Which Kuka do you use? Thanks, Greg

Hi! :-) I was wondering, after the simulation, can you get the files in the krc format for KUKA? I found the option in KUKAkrc, but not here apparently.

Thanks and cheers Anna

Hi Vangel - Yes it's possible, we will look into this for possible inclusion in our next release. What is the application you are planning; this will help us decide what functions to develop. Greg

Is it possible to create a robot with less axis  or just one like a turning table. I need to simulate a robot and a turning table, working together.

Thank you.

Godzilla V1.1 and examples files now available on food4rhino

I use floppy disk to store KRL and DAT files and load them to KRC1.

Comment by Gregory Epps on May 10, 2013 at 7:56

Will you get Kuka to do it for you then?

Comment by Freddy on May 10, 2013 at 7:50

Last time I mentioned about the Network setup for my KR2210 which went horribly wrong, couldn't get into Kuka OS when reboot because we accidently changed the VNC network configuration which not supposed to, so if you don't know what you are doing don't mess with it. There's more info. on this in the Robot Forum.

Yes you can call kuka to do the service/upgrade.

Can you upgrade the boards in the controller?
