Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello GH users,

I am sure this has been covered some place here on the form, I am trying to create a smooth organic structure using the intersections of the lines to define the open cells and the pipe to create the structure. I am thinking this would be possible with a combination of weaverbird and geometry gym; however I have yet to discover this combination.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure your exact intention, but hopefully the attached gives some guidance on one approach in combining Geometry Gym and Weaverbird to achieve something similar.  The offsets for each cell could be determined as an attractor from the centre or similar.  I'm sure Giulio or myself are happy to advise further if this raises new questions.

Jon,

This is great! Thanks for your help again.

I am trying this method with a diagrid but not getting the same results. I believe I need to rearrange my data for the two curve sets in order to make the surface to mesh.

I would eventually like to make a very complicated grid and use this process.

I think it's to do with non planar faces in your surface, as the attached works.  Try creating a 4 edge surface and then splitting out an extruded internal piece.  I'll help further if you can't do it.
