algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I wonder if I'm the only one who's noticed this: it seems to me that, unlike panels, when param viewers are fed extremely long sets of data (i.e. many paths) the entire canvas gets sluggish. The redraw speed on scrolling drops dramatically. It has nothing to do with the processing of the data itself, as merely clustering a single param viewer allows for the display of the same data in a panel with no reduction in speed. Is this specific to my system or can others reproduce this effect? Any idea why it's happening?

It's happening because I spend a lot of time optimizing the Text Panel display for speed, but ParamViewers just call the default Windows 'Hey you! Draw this String on the screen inside this rectangle" function.

I'll get around to optimizing the ParamViewer at some point, I also want to drastically change the graphical feedback mode as the branch tags that I currently draw are both ugly and often superfluous.
